Privacy Policy

1. Overview

G5 Labs ("G5 Labs," "we," "us," or "our") provides fractional CTO, AI strategy, cybersecurity, and digital marketing consulting services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit g5labs.io, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using this site, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Contact and inquiry details — name, email, company, phone, and any message content you submit through lead-capture forms, email, or scheduled consultations.
  • Book-interest signups — email address and any optional information provided when registering for updates on the upcoming "Cascading AI" book.
  • Engagement and billing information — details required to deliver consulting services, managed via our client portal at clients.g5labs.io.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited, time on page, and approximate location derived from IP.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — first-party cookies for essential site functionality and third-party cookies from analytics providers (see Section 5).
  • Server logs — retained short-term for security monitoring, rate-limiting, and diagnostics.

3. How We Use Information

  • Respond to inquiries, schedule consultations, and deliver contracted services.
  • Send service-related communications (e.g., project updates, invoices, meeting links).
  • Notify opted-in subscribers about the "Cascading AI" book and related launch updates.
  • Measure site performance and improve content, navigation, and user experience.
  • Protect the site against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where required by law (e.g., GDPR, UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for marketing emails, book-launch updates, and non-essential cookies.
  • Contract — to deliver services you've engaged us to provide.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the site, measure aggregate usage, and respond to inbound inquiries.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and other regulatory requirements.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-EKQ7SSSNBS) to understand aggregate site usage. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and processes pseudonymous identifiers to report on sessions and events. IP addresses are truncated where supported.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or using "Do Not Track" / Global Privacy Control signals.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share limited data only with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf — analytics (Google), hosting/CDN (Hostinger, Cloudflare), email and scheduling tools, and client-portal infrastructure.
  • Professional advisors — accountants, attorneys, and auditors bound by confidentiality.
  • Authorities — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users where required.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Inquiry and marketing data is generally kept for up to 24 months after the last interaction unless you request earlier deletion.

8. Security

G5 Labs applies industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including TLS encryption in transit, least-privilege access controls, and monitoring — to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we continuously review our controls against frameworks relevant to our clients (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS).

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@g5labs.io. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

10. U.S. State Privacy Notices

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising or "sale" of personal information. G5 Labs does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To submit a request, contact privacy@g5labs.io.

11. International Users

G5 Labs is based in the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

12. Children's Privacy

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-Party Links

Our site links to third-party platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, the client portal, and partner sites). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, providing additional notice.
